Mariela Paz, founder of Sabor Miami Café

Mariela Paz opened Sabor Miami Café and Gallery in 2015, not long after moving to Cleveland to be closer to her family. Paz was born in Honduras, lived in Miami for 14 years, and moved to Cleveland in 2015, bringing her amazing cooking, art, and positivity with her!

At Sabor Miami Café, you can find an array of multicultural flavors such as Cuban, Honduran, Peruvian, and Mexican. With an assortment of both sweet and savory dishes, you’re bound to find a new favorite dish with bursts of Latin infusion flavors. Some of the sweet dishes includes Mariela’s “Maracuya” (Passion Fruit) Tres Leches (milk cake), Coquito (coconut) Tres Leches and Chocolate Tres Leches! A few of the mouth-watering savory dishes includes Chicken Cubiche Burrito, Tortillas Rancheras, Miami TropChop chicken, Vegetarian TropChop and the fantastic Cuban Sandwich! Each dish can be made vegetarian or vegan using ingredients such as plantains and avocado, so there really is something for everyone.

And we can’t forget to mention the amazing coffee that Mariela makes such as the Cuban Colada espresso drinks; Cortaditos (cafe con leche with espresso); and Mayan Mocha. You can also try less traditional cups like an Oreo Mocha and a coconut Coco Beach Iced Latte!

When you enter the café you are instantly uplifted by the vibrant artwork that covers the walls. All the art was created by Mariela herself, who was a graphic designer before opening Sabor Miami Café and Gallery! Mariela regularly holds painting events for members of the community, combining both her passions of art and food.

There is so much to gain and experience by visiting Sabor Miami Café and Gallery, and being surrounded by the beautiful art and vibrant colors. We hope you are inspired to support Sabor Miami Cafe, US Together, and the other businesses featured in our holiday coupon book by donating to our holiday fundraising campaign! Your donation will directly help us continue serving the Cleveland refugee community, and we truly appreciate your support!
