US Together Wellness Clinic: Psychological Evaluations and Referrals
We are excited to announce that US Together Inc. is now offering psychological evaluations through our Wellness Clinic for immigrants and refugees who need them as part of their legal status applications.
These evaluations can significantly contribute to a positive outcome for clients. Our licensed mental health professionals will collaborate closely with client attorneys and accredited representatives to ensure a high-quality report that meets clinical, ethical, and legal requirements. After several evaluative sessions, our mental health professional will use clinical data to document an immigrant’s history, trauma, diagnosis, and mental health. A report is written within 14 days of the completed evaluation.
Evaluations are available for:
Extreme Hardship Waivers
Political Asylum
Domestic Violence (VAWA)
Victim of Crime (U Visa)
Human Trafficking (T Visa)
Immigration courts traditionally regard these evaluations as compelling evidence of a person’s need to remain in the US. Unfortunately, this service—while deserved by all—has not been readily accessible or affordable. By providing low-cost evaluations, we hope to support immigrants and refugees in finding safety and security for themselves and their families. Fees are waived to clients that are enrolled in US Together programs. If clients are ineligible for these programs, we charge an hourly rate.
To make a referral please fill out the form below and email it to our Director of Clinical Services, Kyri Shaffer, IMFT-S, at kshaffer@ustogether.us. You will then be contacted by the clinician assigned to begin the evaluative process.
NOTE: Psychological evaluations are different from ongoing outpatient therapy. In order to maintain an unbiased evaluative role, it is recommended that the clinician conducting the psych evaluation does not continue to provide therapy for the client. If needed, a referral will be made to an an alternative provider.
NOTE: Please note that our staff is currently limited and there is a 4-5 month waitlist to receive an evaluation.
