Mounga African Bags
Mounga is a refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He came to the United States in February 2019. Before this, Mounga lived in Burundi. In Burundi, Mounga worked as a carpenter. After Mounga came to the United States, he learned how to sew. He has been sewing and selling products made with African fabrics since about July 2019.
Mounga is very skilled at sewing and he enjoys being able to use this skill and share it with others through his beautiful products. He makes bags with a variety of colorful African fabrics. He also recently learned how to make African clothing and has started making shirts and dresses. Mounga has participated in some markets and holiday pop-up shops in the greater Cleveland area as part of US Together's Microenteprise Development Program. He has also been able to sell his African bags in some shops in the area, including at One World Shop, a fair trade store in Rocky River, Ohio.
