MED Program Launches First Farmers Market Initiative

Every Saturday this summer in Cleveland, Ohio, local refugee artisans who have migrated to the area from all over the world - Eritrea, Ukraine, Ethiopia, Syria, the Congo - unite in a shared space for our Farmers Market Initiative. In partnership with HIAS, US Together has designed a tolerant and progressive micro-enterprise program that serves more than a dozen artisans.

Restaurateurs, hand-beaded jewelers, weavers, pastry chefs, clothing designers, painters and poetry writers reflect the diverse range of talent. As we prepare for our next market, we have set the bar high with great acclaim and support from our community! Please take a moment to enjoy this video that captures a few brief exchanges of joy and gratitude experienced by all involved - staff, volunteers, artisans and community members.
